Steer Clear of These Clauses:
AC's finance contracts generally do not contain clauses for interim rent, automatic extension, duplicate insurance billing, automatic commencement, automatic liens, or prepayment penalties for nearly all applicants. Exceptions to this are discussed with the applicant such that there is complete understanding; this applies to FMV residual and option purchases and some challenged-credit and startup applicants

We encourage all clients to understand these devices and to recognize that many banks and competitors do employ unnecessary techniques to increase revenues. AC educates our clients, but the reality is that you must take ownership of your business. Evaluate your contracts for this language; don't take it for granted. Note that a limited extension clause is in many contracts; we nullify the extension by fixed $1 or 10% residual language.
